Assignment
Since 2006, the JBJ Soul Foundation has worked to break the cycle of hunger, poverty and homelessness by developing partnerships, creating programs and providing grants to support innovative community organizations.
In October 2011, the Foundation opened the first JBJ Soul Kitchen in Red Bank, NJ to address food insecurity issues. The community kitchen serves nutritious culinary dishes designed by Soul Kitchen chefs in a beautiful restaurant atmosphere. The kitchen uses a “pay it forward” model asking diners to contribute either volunteer hours or a donation towards their meals.

In May 2016, JBJ Soul Kitchen expanded to open a second location at the BEAT Center in Toms River, NJ. Since its inception, the kitchens have served more than 100,000 meals, recently reaching the goal of serving 51% of paying diners and 49% of diners in need.
The Official Website JBJ Soul Foundation, currently includes archived news articles documenting the work they have done since launching the Foundation as the Philadelphia Soul Charitable Foundation in October 2006. The site will be updated as they continue to make a difference in the City of Brotherly Love and beyond…and asks you, to join them in changing lives, one SOUL at a time.
